Let me introduce the"we" in this website. "We" are J.R. and Faye Davenport. "We" both still workfull time, but are looking forward to the days when we can devote all our time to doing what we both love -- working with our beagles. We have been raising beagles since the early 90's. We started out with one beagle (Isn't that always the case?!?!?) and currently have 25 beagles, including 3 puppies. We are members of two AKC Clubs, the Chesnut Log Beagle Club and the Douglasville Kennel Club, as well as members of the ARHA/NKC Haralson County Beagle Club. We are officers in two of these clubs. We do some field trialing, but J.R. has to work many Saturdays, so it just isn't possible to attend many field trials.
We have our own fenced training area with rabbits for training our dogs.
We have several litters a year. There can be few things more fun than raising a litter of beagle puppies!!! I am sure the [real] mama beagles would prefer that I not use such a "hands-on approach" but I just can't help it!!!
Many of our clients have offered to give references. One of these is Mary pictured on the website referenced below. This is a "family portrait" including Mary, Danny and, OF COURSE, Buster!! Be sure to see their portrait at www.carolynmcdade.com (under paintings and drawings). Incidentally, Carolyn McDade (it's her website) does beautiful and very reasonable portraits from photographs--check her out also!)
As of mid-summer of 2005, we have three litters (2 tricolor and one lemon/white) due on July 13 (I HAVE spoken to J.R. about breeding three the same day!!! Will make for a VERY EXITING July 13.) and then another litter due on July 15. We usually presell our litters. This means that the new families are actually THINKING AHEAD and PLANNING for the new member of their family--and that is what a new puppy of any kind is, a NEW MEMBER OF THE FAMILY. We will probably ask YOU some questions as well. And we'll be HAPPY to provide you with a reference(s).
Since we presell many of our puppies, you might wish to call us and reserve a puppy now.

You might say that J.R. has gone to the dogs! Beagles, that is!!

Here is MamaBeagle with a Beagle Baby by the [almost anyway] famous BEAGLE TREE! Well, it IS a one-of-a-kind!

I am active with a couple of animal shelter/rescue groups. Here is a pix from a recent Rabies Clinic in Clay County, Alabama, where I had a display on the AIVD (computer chip) identification system and some recommendations for a canine first aid kit. Met a lot of nice people who also loved their animals.

Our pups are raised around our cats. Here is little Star playing with Rambo. Sometimes a whole litter will just roll Rambo around and lick him. When he gets enough play, he will just jump up on the furniture and leave the puppies howling because their play buddy is out of reach!

Here is Katie with her first litter!! Before Dr. Fivet (how could he be anything but a "vet"?, right?) retired, every time we brought in a new litter of puppies for him to check out, he would always call his assistants in and tell them, "Look at the shiny coat on these puppies! Now THAT'S good nutrition!" And good nutrition, supplements, herbs, NuVet tabs -- all together make for a healthy mama beagle, that makes for healthy puppies. If they don't get the proper nutrition BEFORE they are born, they start out behind!!
